Walk on Country with Dja Dja Wurrung Traditional Owners

Walk on Country and learn from Dja Dja Wurrung Elder, Uncle Rick Nelson and Traditional Owner Jason Kerr
41 Forest Street, Woodend VIC, Australia

Walk with us along to the Five Mile Creek Walk on Dja Dja Wurrung Country to celebrate the opening of the Macedon Ranges Autumn Festival and connection to Country.

This is one of three unique First Nations events that will be held during the Autumn Festival, over one big weekend (1-2 April), each celebrating the region’s rich Indigenous heritage and offering a unique opportunity to learn from Traditional Owners’ and Custodians’ connection to Country.

Located on in the town of Woodend, Five Mile Creek is home to the endangered Black Gum and the Unique Woodend Grassland Reserve.

Event will include:

  • Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony with Dja Dja Wurrung Elder, Uncle Rick Nelson and Traditional Owner Jason Kerr.
  • A group walk to explore the unique natural environment of the Five Mile Creek.

Note – this is a free event, but places are limited. Bookings are required – see ‘Buy Tickets’ button to reserve your spot. Tickets Available from midday on Tuesday 21 March.

Please remember to bring your own water and suitably warm clothing.
