More from Historic Stationmaster house of Woodend
Situated beautifully in the heart of the Macedon Ranges, the original Victoria Rail Stationmaster House of Woodend, built 1897 is a local icon acting effectively as a Gatepost to the township of Woodend. It is so centrally located it’s literally a 3 minute walk to the V/Line platforms to come or go easily from Melbourne to Bendigo. Once you’re here, it’s only a five minute walk to cafes, hotel, brewery, wine bars, boutique stores and much much more.
Extensively renovated to bring modern day comfort to old world charm this 3 bedroom 2 bathroom cottage will wrap it’s arms around you if you need to be kept warm or open up to the great outdoors when the weather draws you out. The kitchen is a large family kitchen with central bench featuring locally sourced & manufactured hardwood benchtops. This is fully equipped with a range oven (3 ovens) and 5 burners, an integrated dishwasher, microwave, fridge freezer and a lot of herbs and spices if you want to whip something up. When it’s time to retire, two of the bedrooms are super spacious Queen sized rooms with 10 foot ceilings and built in robes. The third is a standard double size (yet to be made available). The bathrooms are all new with heated floors and towel rails. The main bathroom has a spacious bath tub for soaking away your stresses or tired limbs in addition to a walk in shower. The en-suite bathroom is pretty as a picture with enormous walk in shower.
Your host, Doug, carried out a lot of the renovation himself whilst project managing expert trades as required and engaging with the local trades and friends who were happy to lend a hand.
