The garden is sprawling and magical and there is even a heated plunge pool for added luxury.

There are plenty of great walks in the area, along the river and through forest tracks. Plus it’s only an eight minute drive into Kyneton for dining and shopping options.

Grangehill is a lovely six bedroom, three-bathroom open-plan home with large verandahs on the north face of Mt Macedon. Set on an acre, it has sweeping views towards Hanging Rock, the Jim Jims and the Cobaw Ranges.

Spread over two levels, the house has an open plan kitchen and living area and a music room with piano. You’ll find a games room with pool table and bar, plus a bocce court and children’s play area. It’s even pet-friendly!

The perfect place for a relaxing holiday where you can kick back with friends and family and have no need to leave. There are however, a number of wonderful bushwalks and wineries nearby if you feel inclined to venture out.

10. Homestead the Mance

Built in 1862, this homestead is now a comfortable, 5-bedroom accommodation set amongst 2.5 acres of beautiful gardens. It’s full of character and old-worldly charm with all its original features, but with modern amenities. Chill out in its sheltered courtyard heated by a pot-belly stove looking out to the gardens. You’ll even find a ‘spa room’ where you can soak in a tub with lovely views.

Located in the laid-back village of Lancefield, you are right in the heart of wine country and spoilt for choice when it comes to cellar doors. The monthly Lancefield Farmers Market is also a great time to plan a stay around.
