Cleveland Winery’s Macedon Brut is produced using the “Traditional Method” of sparkling wine production. It contains Pinot and Chardonnay grapes and has a bouquet of strawberry, lemon zest and baked bread. Its palate is crisp and creamy with a dry finish and persistent fine bead.
Cellar Door: Cleveland Winery is located in Lancefield and has the only underground cellar door in the region. Open 11am weekdays (upon request) and 11am every weekend.

Cleveland Winery’s underground wine tasting cellar
Botanica Estate is a premium grape and wine producer located in the Macedon Ranges, just a short distance to the scenic Hanging Rock. They are one of the highest and coldest vineyards in Victoria and grow quality Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Gewürztraminer grapes.
Their 2014 Tullus Sparkling Rose is a light pink in the glass with a fine bead. The nose is of citrus zest interwoven by creamy stone fruits. There is a clotted cream backdrop to the palette that gives fullness & contrast to the driving citrus fruit, before worked white peach characters that give depth and class to the finish.

Cope-Williams Winery’s sparkling Macedon Brut is a blend of very slow ripening Chardonnay and Pinot Noir with a substantial proportion of reserve wine. With some careful cellaring the bright fresh apple and citrus aromas mellow and the rich biscuit flavours come to the fore, making this the premiere celebratory sparkling from Australia. Winning more awards than we can list here, this is truly the undiscovered gem of the Macedon Ranges.

Cope-Williams Winery Macedon Brut NV
Gisborne Peak Winery’s 2017 vintage Sparkling Pinot Noir is perfect for Christmas lunch or dinner. Made from estate grown Pinot Noir, the wine has a rich strawberry palate, a big bold mouthfeel and a lingering finish. Perfect with roasts, this is a wine to have with your main course and with really good friends.

Take in Hanging Rock Winery’s amazing ‘Sculpture in Motion’ exhibition in the vines when you drop by their cellar door.
Hesket Estate Winery‘s Blanc de Noir 2016 Sparkling received Gold and the Trophy for Best Sparkling at the Macedon Ranges Wine Exhibition this year. It’s crystalline to straw in colour and displays a fine and persistent bead. First flush strawberry and mulberry flavours abound along with almond and lemon sherbet. Austere yet creamy in the mouth, the wine is clean and refreshing. It will develop further with short-term bottle maturation, but is already a spring and summer delight as an aperitif or food style. Serve well chilled.

Wine tasting at Hesket Estate Winery
Handcrafted by Macedon Ranges based winemaker Brian Martin, the Hunter-Gatherer range of wines encompass ideals of faithful expression of site, the use of old-world wine-making practices and the application of new-world knowledge. The grapes for Hunter-Gatherer Vintners’ 2019 Prosecco were gathered from the Fontanella vineyard in Glenlyon and made using the Traditional Method.

Mount Macedon Winery‘s 2017 Sparkling has fresh aromas of fresh lemon, zesty stone fruit and a bright bubbly fizz, with a whisker of residual sugar that balances that balance the natural acidity and lingering finish.

This delightful and hugely popular sparkling has a fragrant, blackberry nose, which matches its colour. It’s a lighter, refreshing varietal made in the champagne style, and has a little sweetness on the front palate, which is followed by a burst of spice and berry flavours. The dry finish leaves a pleasant lingering taste on the palate that even the most discerning wine enthusiast will enjoy. It’s a huge favourite of ours and our customers go wild over it, especially at Christmas!

First released in 2015, the Curly Flat Macedon NV has grown to be a staff and customer favourite alike. The Macedon NV is equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The 2011 vintage makes up about 60% of the blend, providing both direction and freshness. The remaining 40% is taken from the 2000 and 2001 vintages, giving excellent savoury complexity. The Curly Flat Macedon NV has a highly complex nose, with notes ranging from brioche to preserved lemon. A mouth filling and creamy mousse gives way to a refreshing grapefruit acidity.

Cloud 9 Farm’s estate grown, special edition sparkling red wine ‘Ruby’ is a very special vintage. Cabernet Sauvignon is rarely used in sparkling wine. You need ripe fruit for Cabernet and you need high acid levels for Sparkling wine. This vintage provided both of these essentials – a rare year indeed. A collaboration between Alan Deeble (Base Wine) and Laura Sparrow (Methode Champenoise), Ruby is a dry red Sparkling made for celebration. It’s perfect for a special occasion with family and friends, like at Christmas with rich foods such as turkey and ham. Or to celebrate 40 years of marriage…hence the name.

Mount Towrong Vineyard‘s Vivace is a co-fermented blend of Chardonnay and Nebbiolo. It goes through secondary ferment in bottle making a fresh, dry sparkling with a salmon pink colour. Great served with natural oysters!

This methode traditionelle Sparkling is blended from handpicked Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes grown at the Parkside Estate. With a delicate pink hue, flavours of strawberry and rose water from the Pinot grapes match the purity and freshness of the Chardonnay as it carries to a crisp, brut finish.
