Macedon Village Farmer's Market

Come down and visit some of the finest producers in the state at the Macedon Village Farmers' Market, held below the majestic Mount Macedon on the welcoming grounds of Macedon Primary School. The market will be an extension of the Woodend Community Farmers' Market and you can look forward to shopping with many of the same stallholders, who will be bringing their high quality produce to the Macedon and surrounding communities, 4 times per year on the 5th Saturday. You can expect the same focus on sustainability, authenticity and community as the Woodend Farmers' Market. The Macedon Primary School are involving the school community in this event and will use any funds raised to further their landcare project.

Romswood Pick Your Own Peonies & Farm Gate Sales

Please note that all pick-your-own peony tickets at Romswood are now sold out for Nov 2024. However non-picking tickets are available at the farm gate on the day. These are $20. Children are free. Non-picking tickets allow entry to the paddocks and gardens. Pre-picked bunches of peonies are $25 ea. (5 stems). If you are not wanting to stay in the gardens, and just want to buy a bunch of peonies or plants, no ticket is required at all. Subject to availability. Romswood Farm is a family-run flower farm situated amongst an established garden setting within the Macedon Ranges. Pick Your Own Peony sessions are available for a limited period each spring. Each session is exclusive for up to 100 people for a 2 hour session. DATES for 2024 Sunday 17 November 11am - 1pm Saturday 23 November 11am - 1pm Sunday 24 November 11am - 1pm Saturday 30 November 11am - 1pm Tickets: Picker $55 for 15 stems - admits 1 person (admits to the garden and peony fields) Non Picking $20 for 1 person (admits to the garden and peony fields) Free for children under 18 years Farm Gate Sales (No Ticket Required)

Hanging Rock Market

Throughout 2024-25, Craft Markets Australia hosts twice yearly craft and produce markets at this well-known tourism icon each year. Market visitors can expect to find an exceptional variety of both local and regional stalls offering quality Australian-made products, delicious gourmet foods, and fresh home grown produce. Where is Hanging Rock? The Macedon Ranges is less than an hour's drive from Melbourne, and Hanging Rock is easily accessed from the A79 Calder Freeway which passes by on the eastern side of Woodend or via Mt Macedon, or from the M31 Hume Highway by turning off at Kilmore and travelling through Lancefield, or alternatively from Wallan via Romsey. There's ample parking, great public amenities and easy walking. Park entry fee $10, supervised by Macedon Ranges Shire Council. A small surcharge applies when paying for parking electronically. Please note dogs are not permitted in the market area.

Budburst Wine Festival 2024

Discover the cool wines and warm hearts of Macedon Ranges winemakers at their annual wine festival, Budburst, taking place each Spring on the third weekend in November! Budburst is a once-a-year opportunity to step behind the vines and meet the family-owned and small-batch makers who shape mainland Australia’s coolest wine region. Across the weekend, more than 25 Macedon Ranges winemakers will open their wineries and cellar doors to wine enthusiasts. From 11am till 5pm Saturday and Sunday, you can enjoy wine tastings, curated food menus championing local produce, art shows, sculptor walks and live music. Explore at your own pace or jump on one of the Budburst bus routes. This year Budburst will run smaller buses to more wineries, delivering participants directly to cellar doors around the Macedon Ranges. Additional details will be released soon. Please note that this year buses will only run on the Saturday. Festival and bus tickets are on sale from 1st September (early bird until 30 September).
